A huge site

Waterproofing a surface area of 20,000 m² on top of metal roof panels

The challenge

The City of Montpellier was looking for an effective waterproofing solution for the rooftop of its new methanisation plant at its waste treatment centre. In terms of waterproofing, the challenge was to use a support that would be compatible with the demands of the activity, i.e. buildings exposed to very high levels of humidity and acid emissions. The metal roof panels and the roof’s enormous dimensions (20,000 m²) also needed to be taken into account.

The solutions

To meet the objectives of the general contractors and the contracting authorities, we proposed our Parasteel TFH warm roofing system, consisting of the Parasteel 42 supporting element and our Adevapo vapour barrier, mechanically attached EPS insulating material and our Adesolo G partial-bonded, single-layer waterproofing membrane. The Parasteel THF system is perfectly suited to buildings exposed to very high levels of humidity. So it was the perfect solution for this site.
