We were delighted to recently welcome the team from Tuffin Ferraby Taylor (TFT) to our Academy for a dedicated session on our Cambrian Slate. It was a fantastic opportunity to share our expertise, demonstrating not only the unique benefits of the product but also the best-practice installation techniques required to achieve a flawless, long-lasting finish.
TFT, the principal designer for the Heathrow Vortex Project, is overseeing a large-scale initiative to replace roofs damaged by wind uplift vortices generated by aircraft during landing and take-off. These vortices affect properties within a 6-mile radius of Heathrow Airport, with an estimated 8,000 properties scheduled for roof replacement over a 5-year period.
BMI Redland has been selected as the manufacturing partner for the pitched roofing systems, working closely with BMI Technical Specification Manager, Joseph Musungo, to support delivery and compliance throughout the project.

It helped TFT to structure their own project inspection program on the back of understanding what Redland expects to see.
