SHED FELT

Shed Felt is intended for use as a waterproof covering on temporary portable buildings, such as garden sheds, kennels and other uninhabited structures. Seek advice from BMI Technical Services to ensure you follow the correct method for membrane attachment.  

 

Please note; constructing an outbuilding such as a garden shed or summerhouse in your garden will not normally require buildings regulations approval if the floor area of the building is less than 15 square metres and contains NO sleeping accommodation. If between 15 and 30 square metres, building regulations approval is also normally not required, provided the building  is also either at least one metre from any boundary or constructed substantially of non-combustible materials.

 

Note: Based on the above BMI does not hold a classification report to EN 13501-5 for Shed Felt and therefore if external fire performance is required then it should not be used, seek advice from BMI Technical Services for a suitable solution.
