The eave is the lowest edge of the roof, where rainwater is discharged into the gutters. The verge is the side edge of a gable roof. Both are termination points where the tile system must be correctly detailed to prevent water being drawn back under the tiles by capillary action or driven in by wind.
Eave tiles should be laid with the correct fall and overhang into the gutter.
