Our country pages
The disruption caused by COVID-19 has affected businesses across the country and has heavily disrupted the roofing industry. At BMI UK & Ireland, we are making a firm commitment to roofers with a clear message: we are up there with you.
With all of this disruption, worry and uncertainty we’ve put together some resources for roofers affected by COVID-19. These should help you get the support you need to get back out there and back on track.
If your business has been affected by COVID-19 you may be able to apply for government support. Click this link to the government’s business support finder tool and see if you’re eligible.

Handwashing has been proven to be one of the most effective methods of limiting the spread of COVID-19. However, handwashing on site is not always easy.
Alcohol-based hand wash or a wash with soap and water should always be available on site. If not, speak to your Health and Safety manager and insist on one.
It’s easy to forget to wash hands during a job – so make sure you keep these tips in mind:
When working on site, the site manager should keep records of shift patterns and visitors for 21 days for the government’s test and trace programme. This record must include the names of staff on site along with contact details, the dates and times of their shifts and also a log of visitors with phone numbers and times on site.
For general construction site safety:
The government has issued guidance for working safely during COVID-19 specifically for those on construction sites. You can download the guide here:
