This highly interactive and practical course is designed to provide delegates with a sound knowledge of all elements involved in Occupational Health and Safety practice or profession to:

- Define key principles and terminology related to occupational safety and health
 - Describe the importance of safety and health in the workplace
 - Identify potential hazards in the work area
 - Limit damage to persons or property in the case of an emergency 
 - Follow procedures that apply to illness or injury in the work area
 
Course Content
- Identifying potential hazards – hazards to be removed, reduced, or reported
 - Implications of exposure to hazardous substances and hazards. 
 - Drawing up a health and safety plan.
 - Protective clothing requirements.
 - Statutory requirements. 
 - Location of fire extinguishers, hoses, and alarms.
 - Identifying fire extinguishers type – and correct use. 
 - Procedures for the identification of emergencies. 
 - Reporting injuries involving individuals to the relevant persons. 
 - Procedures for reporting and recording. 
 - Procedures to be followed if an injury may lead to a claim against workman's compensation. 
 - Incident report – written and delivered to the relevant authority from the staff member/s and stored safely
 
Pricing and payment terms (as per schedule)	
- R3 350 per person, excluding VAT
 - Alternative payment terms must be discussed and agreed upon before course commencement.

- The course is run over a period of 3 days

Assessment and Certification 
All delegates who complete the summative assessment will be assessed, moderated, and receive an SOR (Statement of Results).
